On an international scale, 47 percent of the participants have already deployed public or private cloud computing to their companies’ IT infrastructure. When asked for their predictions on the same for the next decade, the number hiked by another 30 percentage points. The C-suite respondents exhibited confidence as they agreed that the cloud would become the supreme technology within a decade. The majority of the C-suite decision-makers believe that the cloud will fulfill at least 75 percent of their IT needs, while 40 percent of the non-c-suite peers express the same view. Cloud already occupies a key role in enterprise technology, and decision-makers have already identified the fact. An unprecedented leap in the cloud adoption is expected in the coming years.

2. The Cloud Is Complex, but driver of Revenue Growth:

Cloud computing is not just a symbol of status quos or maintaining systems; it is a driving factor for businesses helping them to focus on improving efficiency and nurturing innovation. It is an apparent phenomenon that 79 percent of the respondents have considered that cloud is a crucial factor that drives revenue growth, and another 87 percent predict it will become an inevitability within a decade's time. The C-suite participants and the non-C-suite peers stand at the same level as they anticipate that the cloud will enact a major role in driving revenue growth. The studies by Google suggest that the CIOs across the globe believe the success of their firm is directly proportional to the efficiency of cloud technology applications. 

3. Businesses Are Bringing In Cloud Capacities With Edge Computing to Verify Data At Its Source:

It has been foreseen that, over the next decade, the cloud will be instilled with the technology stack, including IoT devices and edge computing. At present, 33 percent of the companies utilize edge computing for the larger share of their cloud operations, and 55 percent are predicted to do the same by 2029. The Unites States is noted to lag in this sector, with less than 18 percent of the participants using edge computing for a major share of the cloud operations. As more and more companies expand their cloud power and intelligence to the edge, improved real-time predictions, quicker responses, and increased seamless customer experiences are to be expected. 

4. Tomorrow’s Businesses' Motto Will Be Openness And Interoperability:

The research conducted by Google suggests that businesses will unravel to occur in an environ where increased value for openness is present. By the end of the next decade, almost 41 percent of global companies are expected to utilize OSS for the greater half of their software platform. When the same is confirmed with CIOs and their business-related peers, the use of predicted OSS were similar with their counterparts. This implies that the technology leaders, as well as the business heads equally recognize the value of interoperability, standardization, continuous innovation, and freedom from vendor lock in and continuous innovation.
